Description

We depart from the main harbor in Zakynthos town in the afternoon and sail towards Cape Gerakas in the southern part of the island. This area is a national Marine Park and the main breeding ground of the Mediterranean loggerhead sea turtle, the Caretta caretta.Our stop is at Marathonisi Island for some Caretta Caretta turtle spotting. This rare species of Mediterranean loggerhead turtle comes to Zakynthos to lay its eggs and can often be seen swimming in the sea. From there we head back to Zakynthos harbor. Duration of tour: 4-5 hours.
